Alzheimer’s Teacher Workshop (LSU Engineering)
What are the causes of Alzheimer’s disease? How do scientists and engineers work together to develop better treatments and prevention strategies?
In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how engineers are helping to combat this disease through improved imaging and diagnostic techniques. Learn about the research being conducted in this field by Dr. Manas Gartia, associate professor of mechanical engineering at LSU.
Workshop highlights:
• tour cutting-edge laboratories
• receive a 3D-printed model of the human brain
• develop a lesson plan or activity to use in your classroom
• earn a $500 stipend for participation
