Our partners at the STEM Ecosystem Community of Practice have challenged students across the country to compete in a virtual robotics competition. Teams of 3 plus a coach learn and work together to program a drone to race for resources in Mars' inhospitable climate agains other competitors. By deploying a fun, easy to use solution on Robotify, your students (grades 5-8) will learn about robotics and computer science by coding AXEL, a virtual Robot roaming Mars, scoring points and moving up the leaderboard.
1) No robots needed - the competition will take place in a browser and can work from any device, including Chromebooks or Tablets. Basic internet access is needed. 2) It's FREE. I am looking for a few teams to compete. Each team should be 3 students and 1 coach. Send coach's name/email address to KimFossey@lsu.edu by end of day on noon Friday, July 9) Anyone can be a coach (no prior coding experience are welcomed and encouraged). Professional Development is included. 4) After registering your coach/teacher, you will have access to the Robotify EDU platform for an unlimited number of students for 6 months. This includes the classroom software license and accompanying professional development.
