From Regional Triumph to State Victory: Glasgow Middle School’s You Be the Chemist Win

The winning team from Glasgow Middle School at the You Be The Chemist Regional Challenge at LSU.

In March 2024, Louisiana State University’s Chemistry Department in collaboration with Capital Area STEM and the LSU Gordon A. Cain Center for STEM Literacy proudly hosted the third annual You Be The Chemist Regional Challenge. This event showcases the passion for chemistry among young students and also fosters their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. The competition this year was particularly special as one of the winning team from our Regional Challenge went on to become the State Winners for Louisiana.

Congratulations to the talented team from Glasgow Middle School—Adhrit M, Bhaskar M, Mary P, and Ziang Z—for their outstanding achievement! Their dedication, hard work, and exceptional knowledge in chemistry have propelled them to success, making their school and community proud.
